Taylor Hicks, a Sunday Morning Go ‘Round

June 29, 2008

A whole lotta shakin’ going on Broadway, apparently as yet another theater reviewer comments positively on Taylor Hicks’ Big New York Adventure. In this article, the writer draws an Elvis comparison. It’s that glitter suit, man.

Not everyone agrees that Taylor Hicks in a Broadway musical such a kewl idea. On the mfoyaorphans site, Keepin’ it Real, they continue their satirically driven Taylor Hicks’ career coverage. Balancing it out, sitting on the other side of the fan rail,  the fans who may deem it verging on blasphemy that anyone offer any opinions on the direction he take in his career.

Where You Can Find Me

June 2, 2008

I post most regularly on IDOL BLUES, originally started as a Taylor Hicks journal of sorts while he was on American Idol. It’s morphed into more of a site in which I talk music, artists and related American Idol topics.

Jason Castro, “So Fast”

April 27, 2008

Here’s a really potentially brilliant tune written by Jason Castro. Blue-eyes is not only beautiful to look at, he’s creative. Man, listen, he can really sing.
Lyrics: “So Fast”
And the flowers are wrinkled, and she, she still don’t understand
Just where a man can go
Tears are no longer fallin’, but what happens when the river dries, and leaves you dyin’ inside
But it’s not her fault, but she, but she can’t go on
Thinkin’ there’s somethin’ that she could’ve done, that she could’ve done

And the song is slowly dyin’
But you went so fast
Why were we, why were we so unkind?
Oh, and now there’s no words to say that will ever change
The way you took your life, with the slip of a finger

And he looks in the mirror
And it’s filled with hate
The enemy has so many times escaped
But it’s not his fault
But he, no he can’t go on
Thinkin’ that things could’ve been different
If he’d have held his tongue

And the song is slowly dyin’
But you went so fast
Why were we, why were we so unkind?
Oh, and now there’s no words to say that will ever change
The way you went, the way you left this world

And the song is slowly dyin’
But you went so fast
Why were we, why were we so unkind?
Oh, and now there’s no words to say that will ever change
The way you took your life, with the slip of a finger
